PRESCHOOL MINISTRIES
Everything we do at within FBCBeaveton Preschool is centered around equipping leaders and parents to impress on the hearts of their children a love for God and His Son, Jesus Christ. We want children to know 3 key things by the time they leave our preschool ministry…God made me, God loves me and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
FIRST VISIT
If you are planning on visiting us this Sunday, we advise you to arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of the service in order to have plenty of time to check in. When you first arrive, please come to the KIDMIN Information Desk located to the west as you enter our main entrance. One of our team members will ask you to fill out a brief registration form. We will take your information and get your child checked into our computer system for easy access the next time you visit. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Checking in Your Child
Drop Off
You will received a Pick Up Ticket for guardians and 2 name badges, one to be placed on your child and one to be given to the leader. When you reach your child’s ministry area, a KIDMIN team member will be available to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
If your child needs you during service, you will either receive a text or an attendant will come and get you.
Pick-Up
Please have your Pick Up ticket ready to present to the KIDMIN team member to pick up your child. If you have misplaced your tag, we will request to see a photo ID of someone listed on the pick-up list. We ask that you pick up your child immediately at the end of the service to allow us time to prepare for the following hour. If you need help or have any questions, please see our KIDMIN Check-in Team.
Please Label
Please make sure all items that belong to your children are labeled. If you have an infant or toddler, be sure to bring plenty of diapers, an extra set of clothes and a sippy cup or bottle with formula. If your child is potty training, be sure to remind your preschooler’s small group leaders of this. Be sure to inform the KIDMIN front desk and your child’s small group leaders of any allergies or health concerns, and always check outside your child’s room to see what the snack of the day is.
Well Child Policy
In order to promote health and wellness in all children, we cannot accept a child that has any of the following symptoms:
Safety and Security
All of our volunteers are loving, caring people who have had background and reference checks. They have submitted applications and have been through training with our FBCBeaverton staff.
All volunteers can be identified at any time by an orange name badge.
What happens on Sunday
We are dedicated to investing in families and children during our Sunday morning environment at 10:30. During this time, engaging activities are used to introduce preschool children to God. The curriculum we use gives preschoolers a first impression of their heavenly Father and the wonder of His love for each of them. From crazy, fun activities to crafts to a large group Bible story and worship time to small group Bible time, it’s all part of the plan to help a child believe 3 key things by the time he or she is 5 years old…
Infants and Toddlers
We know that leaving your baby for the first time can be overwhelming! The leaders in the infant classrooms have a passion and love for taking care of our littlest ones. We are committed to the safety of your children and providing the best care we can. In order to do so, we adhere to a one volunteer to every three children ratio in our infant and toddler classrooms. Please bring and label items your child will need that morning including bottles, sippy cups, bags, jackets, etc. Please fill out the communication card located outside your child’s classroom with any details concerning feeding, diapering and napping schedules.
When you pick up your child, the card will be given back to you with details marked from the morning such as when your child was fed, when your child’s diaper was changed and how long your child slept. Toddler classrooms are one of the most unique places in the church. Between the diaper changes, snacking, and rocking, there are small windows of playtime that can be an amazing opportunity to teach children about their loving heavenly Father. The curriculum we use is designed to bridge the gap as your young toddler move from the toddler room towards the twos. We provide playtimes to teach the monthly bottom line through one-on-one interactions as well as small group play. We repeat each activity as long as there is interest. Remember, toddlers LOVE repetition.
2-Year olds
This is a fun and active stage in your child’s life. We focus on one of our 3 basic truths each month. Every week your children will learn a Bible story in their large group that will help them understand the key truth for the morning. During small group time, your two-year-old will participate in many age- appropriate, creative activities. We believe in an active, hands-on approach with our kids, so be on the lookout for those fun projects!
If you would like to know what your child is learning, please take a look at the Parent Cue cards you receive when you pick up your child. You are the best teacher for your child, so use these resources to talk about God with them all week at home.
Be sure to bring extra diapers and a change of clothes. Label all items, including cups, snacks, diapers, pacifiers, etc. If your child is potty training, please be sure to communicate that to your small group leader. Volunteers are never allowed in the bathroom alone with children. They will assist them with clothing (as needed) outside the door.
3-5 year olds
We believe that it is our responsibility to introduce preschoolers to their Heavenly Father. So before they leave FBCBeaverton Preschool Min, we want them to know: God loves me, God made me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Every month we focus on one of these three basic truths. Each week your children will learn a Bible story and participate in fun, creative activities that teach one key truth for the month.
As soon as they walk in the door, they participate in a MAKE IT FUN activity that is designed to grab their attention. They will then hear a creative presentation of the Bible story and participate in worship, where they are encouraged to sing and dance and interact with their leaders. Following the worship and story time, they will participate in several creative, fun activities designed to help them better understand the key truth of the day through a hands-on experience.
If you would like to know what your child is learning, please take a look at the Parent Cue cards you receive when you pick up your child. Also, you will receive follow-up email of the content taught. You are the best teacher for your child, so use these resources to talk about God with them all week at home.
In order to create the most ideal teaching environments, we place one volunteer in every classroom for every five children. Volunteers are never allowed in the bathrooms alone with children. They will assist them with clothing (as needed) outside the door. Please label all items that belong to your children.
FOR PARENTS
We recognize that no one has more influence over a child than his or her parents. Each year, we spend about 40 hours with your kids in church, but you spend about 3,000 unscheduled hours at home! Because of this, we believe what happens at home is more important than what happens at church. We are committed to partnering with parents by providing a plan that will give them the tools they need to support their kids spiritually.
Here are some ways we feel we can partner with you:
